Hot Wire Process

The HWP-50F Hot Wire Process is used where high deposition rates, combined with high quality are needed. Used with the GTAW or PAW welding process, the wire is electrically preheated before it enters the weld pool. The system can be used for the surfacing or the joining of ferrous and non ferrous alloys.

  • Produces high quality welds in either hot wire or cold wire mode
  • Enhanced control of heat input
  • Primarily for GTAW and PAW processes to yield deposition rates similar to GMAW
  • User friendly 9700W microprocessor control; designed for presetting and sequencing of wire feed speed
  • Wire feed speed range is 12 to 600 IPM (30 to 1525 CPM) with a speed holding accuracy of ±1%
  • Heavy-duty four roll wire drive unit
  • Dual-axis wire positioner
  • Several hot wire torch designs available including narrow groove
  • Feeds wire sizes from .045” and .062” (1.2 and 1.6 mm)
  • 100% duty cycle, 200 amps at 10 volts AC variable frequency power supply
  • Current and volt meter
  • 0 to 15 volt open circuit voltage
  • Easy primary three phase switch over - 380/415/460 volts, 50/60Hz
  • System includes hot wire power supply, remote control, wire drive, wire feed accessories, wire straightener, standard torch, cables and hoses
